Tips for buying tickets to big shows (like Ben Harper April 23rd)!

Hello live music fans!

As you all know by now, tickets go on sale this Friday at 12pm for Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, April 23rd 2016.  A few basics to start us off:

*If you are local, your best bet is to come get in line here at 101 Biltmore Ave this Friday.  The earlier you arrive, the more likely you will get tickets.  If you’ve done the in-person thing here before for a big show, you know we make every effort to take care of EVERYONE who has been in line a reasonable amount of time!

*There is a four ticket limit per customer on this one.

*Tickets can be bought in person here at the Peel, at our outlet at Harvest Records on Haywood Road, or online as will-call tickets only.  (note: tickets will not be available at any other ticket outlets except Harvest)

*There will be NO print-at-home option for these tickets, in an effort to discourage brokers and re-sellers.  Again, you cannot buy tix to be emailed to you & printed off at home, nor sent as a barcode to your mobile.

*Tickets can be bought in person at the box office and you can take them with you as soon as you buy, or online as ‘will call’ pick up tickets; buyers may then pick up these will-call tickets at the box office anytime we are open before the show. You will need your valid ID that matches the order name to claim tickets

*Tickets will be non-transferrable.  All of the above is being done to limit ticket scalping, and ensure that actual fans are the lucky ones who get the tickets, and not re-sellers!

Tickets for this show will sell out FAST!  We want fans to be prepared for the reality that not everyone who wants tickets for this show will get them – demand will exceed supply. Once the fan club pre-sale is accounted for, the venue has less than 900 tickets to sell. There are probably 5-10 times that many people in the Asheville area alone who want to buy tickets. Let alone other regional cities who would like to be in the audience.  If you get tickets online, congrats – you are one of the lucky minority out of all who tried!

The good news for locals is, you have several options for ticket purchasing. Tickets will be on sale at The Orange Peel Box Office at 12pm (people will line up early, so be prepared to wait in line), over the phone (1-800-514-3849), and online. If you choose to come to the box office, and that is the most assured way to score tickets if you can make it here,  our advice is to arrive the earliest you can.   If you’re the first, second or sixth person in line you are virtually guaranteed of being able to purchase up to 4!  Even if you’re the 50th, we can almost definitely take care of you for two tickets.  If you show up at 11:45am for the 12pm on-sale, then all bets are off and no promises, but we’ll still try!

If you are planning to purchase tickets online, we’d like to share a couple tips for success.

First, go directly to the Etix website to purchase the tickets at 12pm – do not go through The Orange Peel site as this is just an extra step that will slow you down.  Here is the link for the Etix listing: bookmark this page! Secondly, we do not recommend using a smart phone to purchase tickets unless you know your connection is super fast and consistent.  We highly recommend using an actual computer for online purchasing, not a mobile phone browser. If you only have a phone, you could also attempt to call Etix at 1-800-514-3849.

Anytime on Friday morning,  you can follow the ticket link and clear your computer’s browsing history in advance. See the bottom of this post for directions on how to do this on various browsers. Doing this should reset the page so it will be ready for your purchase at 12pm.

Finally, be sure that you enter your credit card billing information accurately in order to avoid an error in processing your order. Online shopping carts will probably fill up with most of the tickets online VERY quickly, within 1-2 minutes – so good luck!
