The Blackout Diaries is a comedy show where standup comedians, plus ‘regular’ people (cops, firefighters, teachers, etc) tell true drinking stories. Then you, the audience, can ask questions. The show was created by comedian Sean Flannery, and is put on every week at The High Hat Club bar and restaurant in Chicago. The live show has traveled to Texas, Ohio, and Michigan as well as Asheville where local storytellers and comics entertain and amaze. Stories range from way too drunk at wedding tales to a bartender who explains how he was kidnapped at the Kentucky Derby. Some of the performers have photos accompanying the story and some bare bones tell it like they would at the local tavern or police station. It’s always a wild night. The Asheville show will be hosted by comedian Alex Joyce who went to high school in Waynesville and now lives in Chicago.
