Special Events FAQs

How do I reserve a date for my event at the Orange Peel?
Contact Liz Whalen at liz@theorangepeel.net to begin the process of reserving the club. The number of non-profit benefits we can host each month is limited; please begin making arrangements early if you’d like to rent the Club for a charity event.

What factors determine my final price?
Your final price will depend on the type of event you are hosting, how many guests you expect, what staffing needs you have, the type of entertainment you choose, the structure of the bar and dining at your event, and any other special requests or needs you may have. We’ll work with you to make your function as affordable as possible; we offer discounts for off-season and week-night events.

I have a non-profit organization. Will the Orange Peel donate the room to me for free for a benefit?
Unfortunately, due to the vast number of requests we receive from non-profits throughout the community each year, we cannot donate the space to any group at no cost. However, we always make a sizeable donation to any group hosting a function here in the form of a significant discount to our normal club rental rates. In exchange for this discount, we ask non-profit groups to provide volunteers who will set up and clean up the room so that we can give offer lower staffing costs. We also ask that you include our logo and name as a sponsor of your event on all event materials. Contact Liz Whalen at liz@theorangepeel.net for more details about holding a charity event at the Orange Peel.

I want to hold my wedding reception at the Orange Peel; do you allow formal wedding parties?
Yes! We’ve held receptions, rehearsal dinners and even wedding ceremonies for many satisfied brides and grooms and their families. The Orange Peel offers a unique, memorable space with a great dance floor, plenty of room for dining and catering, and an atmosphere that will make for a party your guests will never forget! See Customer Comments and Photos for past examples and what others have had to say.
How does the pricing at the Orange Peel compare to other spaces and event companies in the area?
The Orange Peel’s prices are in line with and in many cases lower than most other event options in the area. And, unlike any other options, we include furniture in our pricing and offer a professional technical team to offer you the very best in sound and lights for your party. We also allow you complete flexibility in hiring caterers, florists, or other outside services or rentals; we never charge you an extra fee for bringing in outside catering.

Where will my guests park?
On the South end of Downtown, where the Orange Peel is located, there is plenty of on-street metered parking on Biltmore Avenue and Lexington Avenue, on either side of the building. There are also a parking deck and a pay-lot located on Biltmore Avenue, just a block down the street from the club. For weddings or receptions, we can provide valet or reserved parking for some or all of your guests depending on attendance; please let us know if you are interested in including this option.

We’re interested in holding a ticketed charity event. Can we use the Orange Peel’s tickets and box office? Is there a fee?
Yes, you may use our ticketing system – and no, there is no additional fee! Clients holding their events at the Orange Peel have the option of using Orange Peel produced available at The Orange Peel box office, online at www.theorangepeel.net, and by toll-free number. We do add $1 in a facility fee to all tickets purchased by your guests through the Orange Peel; this fee will be added onto their ticket price – your organization will not have to pay it. All you have to do is provide us with the pricing you’d like, and the billing for the event you want printed on the tickets. We’ll also print out extras for you to sell or distribute to board members or other volunteers involved with your organization.

How long is the typical event at the Orange Peel? Can we add extra hours if we want to?
Our pricing for special events assumes a three-hour party, plus an extra half hour when doors open but the event has not officially begun. Extra hours may be added on to either the beginning or the end for a per-head charge.
